Taylor-Swift
Taylor Swift, full Taylor Alison Swift. American singer/songwriter who's had great success with the tales she tells of her young heartbreak. Swift was a fan of music at an early time. She quickly moved up the ranks, starting as a child actor and then performing in front of a huge crowd. Swift began to compose songs at the age of 11. She sang The Star-Spangled Banner for a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. Swift was inspired by artists who played country music, like Shania Twain, the Dixie Chicks and, more recently, the Chicks to come up with original songs that expressed the apathy she experienced by 13. Swift's family relocated into Tennessee from Pennsylvania when she was 13, so that she could spend longer pursuing popular country music labels in Nashville.
